I. Studio

What wants to be seen?

Procesas is an art therapy studio and an open space for making, where therapy meets everyday life. You can come with whatever is here today — alone or among others — and let it take shape.

Some things live in us longer than we have words for them. The body knows this and keeps them. When the hand is allowed to lead, the mind can rest. What we could not yet say begins to appear on the paper: a colour, a line, an unexpected shape.

Every process begins with an intention, continues through making, and ends with witnessing — your own and another’s. We make for the pleasure of it, feel as much as we feel today, and see ourselves and one another.

“Life, at its best, is a flowing, changing process in which nothing is fixed.”

II. Art therapy

Art therapy: healing that comes from within

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which drawing, painting, clay and other visual media become a way of knowing yourself. What matters most is the process itself: what happens while making, and what the artwork helps you see.

Some experiences — stress, anxiety, low mood, trauma — live deeper than words reach — the body keeps them. Image, colour and movement let them speak gently, safely and at its own pace.

What matters to me

  • The therapeutic relationship

Everything begins with a safe, genuine connection. I rely on trusted art therapy methods, and above all on being present: seeing, hearing and witnessing.

  • A safe space to explore

Every artwork and every feeling is welcome here as it is. You can play, be curious, try things and let yourself make without judgement.

  • The wisdom of the body

The body knows more than we manage to say. We learn to hear it, trust what it knows, and let feelings rise and be.

  • Symbols and rituals

I draw on a Jungian approach: images speak in symbols, and archetypes, dreams and rituals help us meet the deeper layers of ourselves.

The studio is a cosy, free and artistic space to play, be curious and rest from perfection. Everything here is what it is.

III. Open studio

Intention. Making. Witness.

An open studio ritual in a small group

The Open Studio Process was created in 1991 by art therapist Pat B. Allen and colleagues as a way of making art together. It has lived around the world for more than three decades — in Lithuania it is still a new experience.

It is a creative ritual with a clear shape: four moments, free making in between, and quiet, respectful witnessing. Everyone makes their own work while the group holds the space.

Soft ripples on pale water
  1. Intention

We write one sentence in the present tense — what we explore, invite or release today.

“I explore what gives me strength today.”

  2. Making

You choose your materials and follow lines, colours and pleasure until the work feels complete. If you get stuck, I am there.

  3. Witness

You sit with your artwork and write: what you see, what you feel, what the image tells you. It can be a dialogue, free writing or a poem.

  4. Sharing

Those who wish read their witness aloud. The others listen quietly — without comments, advice or interpretation.

IV. Processes

Processes at the studio

Choose the one that suits you best

I call these sessions processes. They are for you if you feel something inside asking for attention. You don’t need to know what it is — feeling it is enough.

The first process has begun — the space is taking shape. The studio opens at the end of October, and all processes begin then. Registration is already open. Follow the space taking shape on Instagram →(opens in a new tab)

V. Therapist

(Saulutė) Monika Brazauskė

Art therapist

I am an art therapist exploring the relationship between embodiment and visual expression. I care about experiences that are hard to put into words: living with chronic illness, trauma, a constant vigilance towards one’s own body.

I have worked with oncology patients at the National Cancer Institute and led an art therapy group for young women living with type 1 diabetes. In practice I have seen how image and word complete each other, revealing layers of experience that words alone cannot reach.

In therapy, what matters most to me is the relationship, and a space where a person can open up at their own pace. I keep learning — right now I am studying contemporary psychotherapy at LSMU.
